Moon Sighting for Zilhajj in Pakistan, Eid Al-Adha on June 29
Karachi: The crescent for the Islamic month of Zilhajj 1444 has been sighted in Pakistan, marking the beginning of Zilhajj on June 20 and Eid al-Adha 2023 on June 29, celebrated with religious fervor.
Under the chairmanship of Maulana Abdul Khabeer, the meeting of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee was held in Karachi, attended by officials from the Meteorological Department and Sindh government. Members of the committee were also present.
Similarly, zonal committees in Islamabad, Lahore, Peshawar, and other regions also held their respective meetings.
The crescent was sighted in various regions, including Lahore, Karachi, and Bahawalpur, as well as other areas. Following the sighting, the Chairman of the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee officially announced that Eid Al-Adha would be celebrated on June 29 in Pakistan.
The Chairman of the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee stated that the decision to sight the Zilhajj crescent after receiving testimonies from across the country was made unanimously.
