Pakistan Government Announces Official Holidays for Eid al-Adha
In a significant development, the federal government has announced official holidays for Eid al-Adha. The Cabinet Division, under the approval of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, has issued a notification stating that offices that remain open for five days a week (Saturday to Wednesday) will observe a holiday on June 29 and June 30.
According to the notification, offices that remain open on Sundays will have a holiday from June 29 to July 1.

It is important to note that yesterday the sighting of the moon for the Islamic month of Dhu al-Hijjah 1444 was confirmed in the country.
Speaking at a press conference in Karachi, Maulana Abdul Khabeer Azad, the Chairman of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, announced that a unanimous decision was made to celebrate the first day of Dhu al-Hijjah 1444 on June 20, which falls on Tuesday, and Eid al-Adha will be observed on June 29, which falls on Thursday.
Eid al-Adha will be celebrated in Saudi Arabia on June 28.
On the other hand, Saudi Arabia had sighted the moon for the month of Dhu al-Hijjah one day earlier. The main ritual of Hajj, known as the Day of Arafah, will be observed on June 27 (Tuesday) in the holy land.
Eid al-Adha will be celebrated in Saudi Arabia on June 28, and it will also be celebrated in Gulf countries, including Dubai, on June 28.
