Eating fish is very good for health but it is equally important to take care of the thorns because if the thorn gets stuck in the throat then it is not necessarily painful but it always gives a feeling of discomfort and sting.

This is not usually fatal, but you may feel short of breath or heavier. However, if you have such an experience, doing this simple task can be helpful in this problem.

What does it feel like to be stuck in a fork?

If a fish hook gets stuck in the throat, the following symptoms may occur, whether it is felt or not.

A tingling or tingling sensation in the throat, a sore throat, a sore throat or neck, a cough, difficulty swallowing or swallowing, and bleeding.

By the way, swallowing a fish hook is rarely the cause of an emergency, so this problem can be overcome by trying the following tips before consulting a doctor.

Marsh Milo

It may sound strange, but a large, soft, sticky marshmallow may help to remove the thorns from the throat.

For this, chew the marshmallow until it becomes soft and then swallow, its stickiness will pull the fork with it and bring it to the stomach.

Olive Oil

Olive oil is a natural lubricant. If the fish hook is stuck in the throat, try swallowing one or two tablespoons of olive oil.

This oil will form a coating on the sides of the throat and on the fork, making it easier to swallow and pass into the stomach or cough.

Cough

Most fish hooks get stuck around the tonsils in the back of the throat, forcing a few coughs can be enough to move them out of place.

Banana

Like marshmallows, bananas can help get a sore throat into the stomach.

Put a large piece of banana in your mouth for at least a minute, which will collect some amount of burning saliva and then swallow it.

Bread and water

Dip one foot into warm running water, pausing between layers to allow them to dry.

Soda

For years, some medical experts have been using cola and other carbonated beverages to get food out of the throat.

When soda enters the stomach, it releases gases, which help to break the fork and create enough pressure to remove it from its place.

Vinegar

Vinegar is high in acid and drinking it can also be helpful in dissolving fish hooks, making them softer and easier to swallow.

For this purpose, mix 2 tablespoons of vinegar in a cup of water or drink one tablespoon of vinegar directly.

In this regard, apple cider vinegar is a better option which does not taste too bad, especially with honey.

Double bread and peanut butter

Double bread with peanut butter can work to get fish hooks into the stomach.

For this purpose, take a large morsel of bread and peanut butter and put it in your mouth for a while so that it can collect moisture and then swallow, making sure you have water.

Do nothing

Most people go to the doctor with the belief that a fish hook is stuck in their throat, although this is not the case.

Fish hooks are sharp and can scratch the back of the throat, many times you feel the scratch when the hook has reached the stomach.

If breathing is not a problem, do not take any action for some time, but before going to bed, find out if the throat is clear or not.

See a doctor or hospital immediately if you have difficulty breathing.

When to go to the doctor

Sometimes a fish hook does not move and a doctor should be consulted.

If this thorn gets stuck somewhere in the esophagus, then it can be a real danger, which increases the risk of various complications.

If the discomfort is severe or the thorn stays in the same place for several days, consult a doctor, while chest pain, swelling, wheezing and if it is impossible to eat, seek immediate medical attention.
