Karachi’s traffic police chief has released a comprehensive traffic diversion plan for the upcoming processions during the holy month of Muharram. The arrangements aim to ensure the smooth flow of traffic during the religious events.
Muharram 8 Procession:
On July 27, the main procession will begin at 1:30 pm from Nishtar Park and pass through several important roads, including Sir Shah Nawaz Bhutto Road, Mehfil-e-Shah-e-Khurasan, MA Jinnah Road, and more, before culminating at the Hussainian Iranian Imambargah in Kharadar.
Muharram 9 Procession:
Scheduled for July 28, this procession will commence at 9 am from the Liaquatabad Imambargah and follow a similar route, ending at the Hussainian Iranian Imambargah after passing through key roads in the city.
Muharram 10 Procession:
On July 29, a large assembly will be held at Nishtar Park, followed by the main procession to the Hussainian Iranian Imambargah, traversing through various roads as in the previous processions.
Traffic Diversion Points:
To ensure the safety of participants and manage traffic effectively, several diversion points will be implemented. Vehicles coming from different directions will be redirected, allowing only those with specific procession-related stickers to join the routes.
Stay Informed and Plan Accordingly:
Motorists are advised to stay informed about the diversion points and plan their routes accordingly during these days. This traffic diversion plan aims to maintain order and facilitate the religious observances while minimizing disruptions to the city’s regular traffic flow.
