Uplift of NMDs Assured by Prime Minister
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has made the decision to incorporate special development projects in the upcoming budget for the newly merged districts (NMDs) of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.
During a meeting with a delegation of Members of National Assembly (MNAs) from the NMDs, the prime minister emphasized that the progress and development of the area remain a top priority for his government.
The delegation, consisting of Overseas Minister Sajid Hussain Turi and MNAs Mohsin Dawar and Muhammad Jamaludin, along with Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal, and other relevant officials, presented proposals to Prime Minister Shehbaz. These proposals aimed to address the issues faced by the merged districts and suggested development measures.
Expressing appreciation for their recommendations, PM Shehbaz confirmed that after careful consideration, the pertinent authorities would incorporate these proposals into the budget for the fiscal year 2023-24. APP
