LAHORE – Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has announced discounted fares for Umrah pilgrims traveling from Pakistan to Madina, effective immediately until July 15.
Discounted Fare Details
According to a spokesperson, the revised fares offer significant savings:
- A round-trip ticket from Lahore and Islamabad to Madina is priced at Rs86,000.
- From Karachi to Madina, the round-trip ticket costs Rs76,000. Taxes are not included in these rates.
Seasonal Considerations
The announcement coincides with the new Umrah season, following the conclusion of the annual Hajj pilgrimage, which attracted 1.8 million Muslims worldwide.
Saudi Arabia’s Expansion Plans
Saudi Arabia aims to increase Umrah pilgrimages to 30 million annually. Abdulrahman bin Fahd, an assistant undersecretary for Umrah Affairs, highlighted the country’s efforts to surpass 10 million pilgrims this year.
