ISLAMABAD: The PTI-led government has increased the prices of petroleum products by Rs 12.44 per liter.
The Finance Ministry has increased the prices of petroleum products by Rs 12.44 per liter for the next 15 days. The new prices will apply until October 31.
According to the notification, petrol will be available at Rs 137.79 per liter after an increase of Rs.10.49 per liter from today. The price of high speed diesel (HSD) has been increased by 12.44 rupees and the price of light diesel by 8.84 rupees. The price of kerosene has also been increased by 10.95 rupees and fixed at 110.26 rupees per liter. Thus, the price of high speed diesel has been increased from Rs 122.04 to Rs 134.48 per liter and the price of light diesel has been increased from Rs 99.51 to Rs 108.35 per liter.
The new prices of petrol effective from October 16, is Rs137.79 per litre, highspeed diesel Rs134.48/litre, kerosene Rs110.26 per litre and that of LDO is Rs108.35 per litre. In percentage terms, diesel prices increased by 10.2 percent, petrol 8.29 percent, kerosene 11 percent and LDO by 8.9 percent.
It may be recalled that OGRA had proposed to increase the price of petrol by Rs 5.90 per liter, but the government doubled it and dropped a bomb on the poor.
It may be recalled that yesterday the federal cabinet approved to increase the price of electricity after which the price of electricity has been increased by Rs 1.68 rupees.
