ISLAMABAD: The National Electricity Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has decided to increase the price of electricity by 5.94 paisa per unit in terms of monthly fuel adjustment.
According to the details, NEPRA has issued a decision regarding the monthly fuel adjustment in January, according to which the price of electricity in the monthly fuel adjustment companies has been increased by Rs5.94 per unit. Rising electricity prices will impose an additional burden of Rs 58 billion on power consumers.
Consumers will have to make additional payments in next month’s bills, but this increase will not apply to Lifeline and K Electric customers.
It should also be noted that on February 28, Prime Minister Imran Khan had announced a reduction of Rs 5 per unit in electricity tariffs and Rs 10 per liter in petroleum products to provide some relief to the people and also said that petrol and electricity Prices will not be increased further.
