In the second eliminator of Pakistan Super League (PSL), Lahore Qalandars defeated Islamabad United by 6 runs after a thrilling contest and qualified for the final.
Lahore Qalandars won the toss and elected to bat first against Islamabad United in a match played at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.
The innings of Lahore Qalandars was very disappointing and already in the over Liam Dawson led Fakhr Zaman to a significant victory for his team.
The Qalandars struggled to reach the big score but in the last over of the innings, David Visay scored 27 runs against Waqas Maqsood to ensure his team reached a reasonable total.
Lahore Qalandars scored 168 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the stipulated overs.
In pursuit of the target, the openers got off to a positive start by scoring 14 runs in the first over of Shaheen Shah Afridi but Shaheen in his next over along with dismissing Paul Sterling as well as Will Jacks gave United a double loss in a row.
Qalandars won the match by 6 runs after a thrilling contest.
David Wiese was declared the man of the match for his aggressive batting and superb last over.
With the victory in this match, Qalandars qualified for the final where they will face Multan Sultans.
