Karachi Records Highest Night Temperature in July Since 2021

Karachi, Pakistan – Amidst dry and scorching weather conditions and intermittent heatwaves, Karachi experienced its warmest July night since 2021, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).

  • Karachi experienced its hottest July night since 2021, recording a minimum temperature of 32°C.
  • The Pakistan Meteorological Department forecasts continued hot and humid conditions with temperatures reaching up to 37°C.
  • Monsoon rains are anticipated to provide relief from Karachi’s current heatwave after July 8.

Meteorological Data

In comparison to the recorded temperatures of 31°C in July 2021 and 2022, last night saw a minimum temperature of 32°C, marking a significant rise, the PMD reported. This 4.1°C increase surpassed the seasonal average.

Weather Outlook

Despite expectations of cooling sea breezes, the Met Office forecasts persistently hot and humid weather for the next 24 hours, with daytime highs anticipated between 35°C to 37°C. Looking forward, the PMD projects typical July temperatures around 27.9°C.

Expert Analysis

Weather analyst Jawad Memon predicts the return of sea breezes, potentially bringing sea clouds and occasional drizzles overnight and in the mornings across Karachi in the upcoming days.

Public Health Advisory

Following a recent heatwave and sporadic rainfall, health experts recommend consuming homemade food and beverages and boiling water to mitigate health risks associated with outside eateries.

Monsoon Forecast

Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfaraz indicates monsoon rains may begin post-July 8, offering potential relief from Karachi’s prevailing weather conditions.
