LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan faced a joint investigation team (JIT) on Friday, where he defended his supporters’ protests within cantonment areas during the May 9 violent incidents. The JIT members assured Khan that they would ask only professional questions. One of the questions revolved around whether the May 9 events were premeditated or coincidental. The JIT also inquired about PTI supporters’ protests within cantonment areas. Khan clarified that people gathered there because he was arrested by a commander. The JIT questioned if he had incited the protests, but Khan denied any involvement, asserting that the protesters acted voluntarily and independently.

Imran Khan maintained that everything that transpired on that day was part of a conspiracy. He disavowed knowing any of the individuals shown in videos and pictures related to the May 9 mayhem, asserting they were not affiliated with him or his party.

During the investigation, Imran Khan warned the JIT members about potential consequences for their actions against his party. He conveyed his determination to make a comeback and hold them accountable.
