Hotels Rates Surge in Ahmedabad Ahead of Pakistan-India World Cup Clash

Hotels rates in the Indian city of Ahmedabad have experienced a significant surge following the confirmation by the International Cricket Council (ICC) that Pakistan’s national cricket team, known as the “Mein in Green,” will face their arch-rivals India in the city. The news was reported by Indian media outlet Deccan Herald.

Unmatched Demand for the Clash

The upcoming Pakistan-India match in the World Cup has generated unparalleled excitement, resulting in a surge in hotel fares. The highly-anticipated encounter will take place at the Narendra Modi Stadium on October 15. As a consequence, hotel rates have skyrocketed, reaching almost ten times their usual prices. Despite many rooms being already sold out for the day, some hotels are even charging close to 100,000 Indian rupees. It is worth noting that on an ordinary day, the same hotel rooms would cost between Rs5,000 and Rs8,000.

A Rivalry Like No Other

The last time Pakistan and India faced each other in an ICC event was during the T20 World Cup match at the Melbourne Cricket Ground last year. The electrifying contest witnessed over 90,000 spectators in attendance. With the upcoming match taking place at the Narendra Modi Stadium, which has a capacity of approximately 132,000 spectators, a full house is expected as these arch-rivals go head to head.

Pakistan’s Schedule for the ICC World Cup 2023

As the anticipation for the World Cup builds, here is Pakistan’s schedule for the tournament:

  • October 6: Pakistan vs Qualifier 1 in Hyderabad
  • October 12: Pakistan vs Qualifier 2 in Hyderabad
  • October 15: Pakistan vs India in Ahmedabad
  • October 20: Pakistan vs Australia in Bengaluru
  • October 23: Pakistan vs Afghanistan in Chennai
  • October 27: Pakistan vs South Africa in Chennai
  • October 31: Pakistan vs Bangladesh in Kolkata
  • November 4: Pakistan vs New Zealand in Bengaluru (Day match)
  • November 12: Pakistan vs England in Kolkata

Please note that the day match will commence at 10:00 am Pakistan Standard Time (PST), while all other matches will be day-night fixtures starting at 01:30 pm (PST).

The Tournament Format and Qualifications

The ICC World Cup 2023 will follow a round-robin format, with all eight qualified teams playing against each other in a total of 45 league matches. Eight teams secured their places through the Cricket World Cup Super League, while the final two spots will be filled by the finalists of the ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier held in Zimbabwe.

Key Points:

  • Hotels rates in Ahmedabad surge ahead of Pakistan-India World Cup clash.
  • Unprecedented demand for the highly-anticipated match leads to price increases.
  • Pakistan’s schedule for the ICC World Cup 2023 includes a crucial match against India in Ahmedabad.
