This is possible if you want to avoid a dangerous disease in life, such as type 2 diabetes, and it is in your own hands, according to a medical study.
Research published in the medical journal Circulation found that increasing physical activity, eating a healthy diet, losing 7% or more of your body weight, or using the drug metformin can protect adults from developing diabetes. I have a higher risk of this disease.
Especially people who have high blood sugar levels but have not developed diabetes.
Type 2 diabetes is the most common type of diabetes in which the body of the sufferer is unable to make or use insulin effectively, whereas diabetic patients have coronary heart disease (heart attack or stroke, etc.). The risk also increases.
Diabetics also have other risk factors for heart disease, including being overweight, high blood pressure or high cholesterol.
The study looked at 3234 adult diabetic patients in two phases over a 24-year period.
These individuals were first made part of a 3-year diabetes prevention trial and then had their health checked for 21 years, with the aim of determining whether the use of metformin drugs or lifestyle factors in diabetes As well as preventing death from heart attack, stroke or heart disease.
The study found that lifestyle factors such as increased physical activity and a 7% reduction in body weight reduced the risk of developing diabetes by 58%, compared with those who took the drug twice a day. This risk is reduced by 31%.
“We have been interested in preventing diabetes since the beginning of this study because diabetes increases the risk of various complications such as kidney disease, coronary heart disease and brain problems,” the researchers said.
“It’s important to keep blood glucose levels under control and we believe that lifestyle factors can help prevent long-term complications of type 2 diabetes,” he said.
