Lahore: The authorities have imposed a ban on selling petrol to motorcycle riders without helmets in Lahore.
Notification Issued by Deputy Commissioner:
Upon the request of the Chief Traffic Officer, the Deputy Commissioner of Lahore has issued a notification stating that due to the non-usage of helmets, there has been an increase in head injuries in accidents.
Helmet Mandatory for Fuel Purchase:
According to the notification, wearing a helmet is mandatory for motorcycle riders to obtain petrol. The notification is issued under the Motor Vehicle Ordinance of 1965, which has been communicated to all relevant departments.
Recent Implementation of Helmet Rule:
It should be noted that three days ago, it was made mandatory for motorcycle riders across Punjab to wear helmets. The DIG Traffic Police Punjab has also issued a notification for immediate implementation and has instructed the authorities to take legal action against violators.
