Meeting of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee called to sight the moon for Eid ul Fitr 2023
Islamabad: The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee has called a meeting to sight the moon for Eid ul Fitr. According to News, the meeting of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will be held on April 20 in Islamabad under the chairmanship of the committee’s chairman, Maulana Abdul Khabeer Azad. A decision will be made regarding the sighting of the Shawwal moon in the meeting.
Representatives from the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Meteorological Department, and SUPARCO will also participate in the meeting, while meetings of Zonal Ruet-e-Hilal Committees will be held in Lahore, Peshawar, Karachi, and Quetta.
On the other hand, preparations for Eid ul Fitr in Pakistan have gained further momentum with the arrival of the last ten days of Ramadan. With only a few days remaining in the holy month, people are eager to know the date of Eid ul Fitr.
It should be noted that the Secretary General of the Ruet-e-Hilal Research Council, Khalid Ejaz Mufti, has said that the moon for Eid ul Fitr will not be sighted on the evening of April 20. Therefore, Ramadan will be of 30 days, and there is a possibility that Eid will be celebrated on Saturday, April 22.
