Pakistan Railways Launches Summer Vacation Special Train to Ease Overcrowding
Pakistan Railways has introduced the “Summer Vacation Special Train” aimed at providing relief to thousands of travelers during the summer holidays. Scheduled to operate from July 5 to July 30, the train will connect Karachi and Rawalpindi.
Preparations for the launch, directed by Secretary of Railways Syed Mazhar Ali Shah, have been completed, as announced by the Ministry of Railways.
The special train (50-Dn) will depart from Karachi at 8:45 pm, arriving in Rawalpindi the next morning at 10 am. From Rawalpindi, it will depart at 12:30 pm, reaching Karachi Cantt at 2:15 pm the following day.
During its journey, the train will stop at key stations including Jhelum, Lalamusa, Gujrat, Wazirabad, Gujranwala, Lahore, Raiwind, Okara, Sahiwal, Khanewal, Bahawalpur, Khanpur, Rohri, and Hyderabad.
The train’s amenities include two AC standard coaches, two AC business coaches, five economy class coaches, one brake van, and one power plant. Additionally, six extra economy-class coaches will be added from Lahore to accommodate more passengers.
This initiative is expected to ease the strain on the current transport system and offer a more comfortable travel option for families and vacationers alike.
